An admiring family in Guelph,
Canada; has thought of abandoning all the activities related to technology and
media and given a chance to themselves to live like back in the 1986s. Blair
McMillan is a father to two and has been living a comforting life until one
day, when he observed his five year old son addicted to cartoons and video
games wouldn’t find enough time to play outside even on a fine bright sunny
day. The young boy brought his father some nostalgic memories back when they were
forced to stay indoors however, could not help them and rest inside but escape
after half an hour.
This man claims that he is not
anti technology but interacting with others in the parks and meet face to face
rather than Face-book, using old rotating phones as compared to cell phones and
smart phones, possessing a TV set from back then, listening to the early rock
version in contrast to today’s hits, making use of a map more willingly then a
GPS navigation system and many other alternatives sure were difficult in the
first few weeks but later, the uneasy feeling turned to somewhat social
interaction and communication. The family has been living like this since the
last year and intends to go for it till 2014. The head of the family dresses
like from the early days and inspires lots from around.
