It has a population of about 1,582 according to the census done in 2006. It is situated next to the Gilmore and Fadden and is situated to the north of Isabella Drive. It was established in 1983.
Industry and Employment opportunities
As mentioned earlier, this region was named after John Macarthur who was the founder of merino wool industry and it is main job supplier for the people of this region.
Arts and recreation and sports activities
In the past Macarthur was hosting the ACT’s motorsport activities. It was chosen for the motorsport and thus called Macarthur Park. It used Coyne Street, Jackie How Crescent, Carson street to form a circuit and this constitutes a circuit with such a most attractive as well as undulating course which was considered as an ideal circuit for motorsports but now this track is badly damaged as no maintenance as well as development is done in this regard. In addition to that, normal facilities for arts and recreation are available for the residents there.
