Valerian is known to cause great effect on nervous system therefore used to treat insomnia, migraine, sleep deprivation or disturbance and depression. It is also effective on curbing depression or tensions from mind. The oil if used on skin could ward off dandruff and scaly skin.

Valerian is used from ancient times as herb or medical purpose in ancient Greece and Rome. From that time it is mainly admired for the effects on insomnia. It was also sometimes used for making tea and other beverages. It is basically a small plant that grows at different parts of world.  The leaves of plants were used to prepare medicines and were used to treat any type of medical condition.
Valarian is extracted by steam distillation of valeriana faurueu plant.
